The Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, colloquially known as "la Católica," "la Cato," "la PUC," or "la UC," is a prestigious private university in Chile and one of the country's traditional universities. Founded 135 years ago on June 21, 1888, by the Archbishopric of Santiago de Chile, the university has a rich history and a deep connection to the Catholic Church.
