Gaziantep, renowned as the largest trade and industrial center in Western Southeastern Turkey, serves as the perfect setting for our esteemed university. Established as a state university on June 27, 1987, Gaziantep University's educational journey started back in 1973 when it served as an extension campus of the renowned Middle East Technical University. Situated close to the city center, the main campus offers convenient access, while extension campuses are thriving in neighboring cities.
Gaziantep University is committed to providing exceptional cultural, scientific, technical, medical, and vocational education and training. Alongside this, the institution conducts groundbreaking fundamental and applied research and actively engages in valuable collaborations and cultural exchanges with esteemed institutions both at the national and international levels.
In the 2008/09 academic year, Gaziantep University enrolled 24,406 undergraduate students and 482 postgraduate students, all guided by the expertise of 1,048 dedicated faculty members. To ensure a world-class learning experience, the language of instruction at Gaziantep University is English.

In 1992, Prof. Dr. Arif Özaydın completed his studies in the Public Administration department at Istanbul University, where he began in 1988. He further pursued his Master's degree in Labor Economics at the same university and successfully completed his Doctorate there as well.
