Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University (RTEU) is a beacon of academic excellence founded on 17th March 2006 in the captivating city of Rize, Turkey. With a strong focus on science and health-related fields, RTEU caters to ambitious students eager to thrive in these domains. As a member of the esteemed Caucasus University Association, the commitment to excellence knows no bounds.

The university's roots trace back to the inception of Rize Vocational School on 1st March 1976, from which the institution flourished exponentially. The Faculty of Theology and the Faculty of Fisheries, established in 1992, paved the way for further growth, joined by Fındıklı Vocational School in 1996, and the Faculty of Education and Faculty of Science and Literature in 1997.

Emerging from Karadeniz Technical University, RTEU attained independence, gaining official recognition as Rize University, housing the Faculties of Fisheries, Theology, Science and Literature, Education, and Rize Vocational School (later divided into two schools).

At Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University, the comprehensive academic offerings encompass 3 Institutes, 13 Faculties, 5 Schools, 7 Vocational Schools, 7 Research and Application Centers, and 6 departments within the rectorate.
