Acibadem University Overview

Acıbadem University, established on May 18, 2007, is a non-profit foundation university dedicated to bringing together various branches of health sciences and providing education in non-health fields.

In its history, Acıbadem Health and Education Foundation initiated the establishment of Acıbadem University on June 3, 2002, and the university was officially founded on May 18, 2007. Over the years, the university developed its infrastructure and curriculum, admitting its first students in the 2009-2010 academic year and graduating its first students in the 2010-2011 academic year.

Initially starting in a temporary campus in Maltepe in 2009, the university later relocated to its permanent campus in Ataşehir in 2013. In 2014, the Atakent Acıbadem University Hospital was inaugurated, further enhancing the university's facilities.

As of the 2021-2022 academic year, Acıbadem University had a student population of 5,134, comprising associate degree, undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students. The university boasted a diverse academic staff of 541, including professors, associate professors, doctors, lecturers, and research assistants.

The Kerem Aydınlar Campus, spanning an area of 26,000 square meters with 100,000 square meters of closed space, serves as the vibrant hub of Acıbadem University. The campus exemplifies inclusive living and environmental sustainability, positioning itself as a potential candidate for the prestigious Leed Gold certification. Notably, the campus features popular amenities such as Cafe APLUS and Starbucks, enhancing the student experience.

The conference center, occupying a closed area of 1,700 square meters and accommodating 750 individuals, stands as a versatile venue equipped with advanced sound and acoustic systems. Its stage area of 102 square meters allows for various events, including congresses, seminars, and artistic performances such as music, theater, opera, ballet, and dance. With infrastructure designed to support international events, the conference center includes two simultaneous translation cabins, three dressing rooms, a 500 square meter foyer area, and three parallel session halls that can be combined to accommodate up to 90 attendees.

The Sports Center, spanning 3,000 square meters, offers a range of athletic facilities. These include a multipurpose sports hall with seating for 225 spectators during matches and 500 spectators during shows, a panoramic 200-meter running track, an international standard squash court, a fully-equipped fitness center with cardio and strength training systems, a spinning studio, a Pilates studio, and a semi-Olympic swimming pool.

Acıbadem University provides comfortable accommodations for students at the Acıbadem University Guesthouse. With 84 apartments and a capacity of 252 beds, the guesthouse offers single and double occupancy options for up to three individuals. Each apartment is well-equipped with essential amenities such as a mini refrigerator, microwave, kettle, kitchen sink, dining table, hairdryer, TV, internal telephone, and a private bathroom. Student rooms are furnished with a bed, pillow, duvet, study desk, fixed reading lamp, wheeled office chair, blinds and fabric curtains, fixed closets and shelves, and a safe. The guesthouse also provides convenient services like wireless internet, central heating, uninterrupted hot water, a generator, electronic card access system, a luggage room, and laundry facilities. Furthermore, students can enjoy the hobby kitchen for cooking their own meals and utilize study rooms for group work, a shared game room, and a relaxation lounge with entertainment options such as a TV, PlayStation, projector, and billiards table. The guesthouse's proximity to the university, being only a three-minute walk away, ensures easy accessibility for students.
