The National Technical University of Ukraine "Kyiv Polytechnic Institute" (NTUU KPI) is a well-established public technological university situated in Kyiv, Ukraine. Founded on 31st August 1898 as the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute of Emperor Alexander II, it has a rich history and a legacy of influential scientists and academics who played pivotal roles in its establishment.

Initially offering four departments, namely Mechanical, Chemical, Agricultural, and Civil Engineering, the institute attracted 360 students during its first enrollment. Eminent figures like Dmitri Mendeleev, Nikolai Zhukovsky, and Kliment Arkadyevich Timiryazev provided significant scientific and organizational support during its founding.

Over the years, the institute underwent several name changes and transformations, becoming the Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture (KNUCA) in 1930 and later restoring its operations after the liberation of Kyiv in November 1943 from Nazi occupation.

With a rich history of contributions to various scientific fields, NTUU KPI boasts numerous institutes and faculties catering to diverse academic disciplines, including applied systems analysis, telecommunication systems, energy management, aerospace technologies, special communication, information security, mechanics, machine-building, materials science, and welding, all contributing to the university's reputation as a prominent center of academic and scientific excellence. The university's Kyiv campus, located near the city center, provides accommodation to around 9,000 students in 21 dormitories.

The Knowledge Square, situated at the heart of the KPI complex, serves as a central venue for meetings, festivals, and graduation ceremonies. Moreover, the university offers a wide range of sports facilities and encourages organized leisure activities for students.

With an impressive roster of academicians and professors, approximately 70% of KPI's teaching staff holds scientific degrees. The institute places a strong emphasis on international cooperation, maintaining partnerships with 45 foreign institutions across 12 countries.

Throughout its existence, NTUU KPI has consistently ranked highly in various national and international assessments. It holds the second position in the Ukrainian university academic rating "TOP – 200 Ukraine" (2022) and the top spot in the Ukrainian employers rating "Compass." Additionally, the university has been recognized in international rankings, such as the "Webometrics" and QS World University Ranking.
