Arizona State University (ASU) is a renowned public research university located in the Phoenix metropolitan area. Established in 1885 by the Arizona Territorial Legislature, it is one of the largest public universities in the United States in terms of student enrollment.

ASU is a distinguished member of the Association of American Universities and is classified as an "R1: Doctoral Universities – Very High Research Activity" institution. With a staggering number of over 150,000 students attending classes, including over 38,000 online students, ASU offers a diverse range of academic programs. The university's rich history dates back to March 12, 1885, when it was initially established as the Territorial Normal School at Tempe. The school began instruction on February 8, 1886, under the guidance of Principal Hiram Bradford Farmer, and has since grown into a prominent educational institution.
