Louisiana State University (LSU), officially known as Louisiana State University and Agricultural and Mechanical College, is a prominent public land-grant research university located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Established in 1860 as the Louisiana State Seminary of Learning & Military Academy near Pineville, the modern LSU main campus, dedicated in 1926, spans over 650 acres along the Mississippi River. LSU is the flagship institution of Louisiana, offering a comprehensive range of programs, enrolling over 28,000 undergraduates and 4,500 graduate students across 14 schools and colleges in 2021.
