University of Kansas Overview

The University of Kansas (KU) is a distinguished public research university located in Lawrence, Kansas, with satellite campuses and educational centers across the state, including the Kansas City metropolitan area and other cities. Established on March 21, 1865, under a charter granted by the Kansas State Legislature, KU has a rich history dating back to the state's admission to the Union in 1861.
