Pamukkale University, established on March 19, 1992, is dedicated to nurturing contemporary, knowledgeable, creative, and entrepreneurial young minds in various fields such as medicine, engineering, economics, natural sciences, social sciences, fine arts, educational sciences, and technical education. With its 19 faculties, 6 institutes, 1 school of higher education, 17 vocational schools, and 45 research centers, the university creates modern educational and service environments at its Kınıklı Campus and various locations in the districts. It is determined to become an international research university.

Pamukkale University adopts the principles of "cooperation," "globalization," and "total quality management" as the magic words of the modern era. It emphasizes international student and faculty exchanges, signing bilateral cooperation agreements with universities from many countries through Erasmus+, LLP Erasmus, SED Erasmus, Socrates, Farabi, Mevlana, and Leonardo projects. The university ranks among the top 100 universities in mobility within the European Union countries.

Pamukkale University's PAÜ Technopark contributes to scientific solutions for regional priorities and supports industrial research and development activities, providing services through publications, patents, and research outcomes. It is a member of the European University Association (EUA), International Association of Universities, and Magna Charta Universitatum, reflecting its commitment to internationalization.

The university has achieved the Diploma Supplement Label (DS) in 2011 and the European Credit Transfer System Label (ECTS) in 2012, ensuring the transparency and recognition of educational achievements. Through international exchange programs like Farabi and Mevlana, students have the opportunity to study in different universities in Turkey and abroad.

Pamukkale University's commitment to internationalization has led to the signing of 810 general and bilateral agreements with European universities within the scope of Sokrates-Erasmus programs. The university is also working on developing other EU programs. Additionally, Pamukkale University has received five Erasmus Academic Minister Awards from the European Erasmus Coordinators Association (EAEC) at the ERACON 2015 Conference.

The university's achievements in the field of archaeology include the establishment of Turkey's first Archaeology Institute within its structure, offering postgraduate education in this field. Notably, Pamukkale University conducts systematic excavation works at Laodikeia and Stratonikeia ancient cities, both of which have been recognized as significant cultural heritage sites. Besides these, the university also conducts excavation works at Tripolis, Aizonai, Ayasuluk Hill, St. Jean Monument, and Ani ancient cities.
