Professor Andrea Prencipe is the esteemed Rector of Luiss University in Rome, serving from 2018 to 2024. His leadership has steered Luiss University into becoming one of Europe's rapidly growing institutions, with a specialized focus on Social Sciences. His vision revolves around academic innovation, empowering students to actively shape their educational journeys, and instilling a sense of civic duty and societal service within the university.

Professor Prencipe's primary passion, both in his research and teaching, is innovation. During his tenure as Rector, he championed an inquiry-based educational model that promotes critical and creative thinking. His commitment to interdisciplinary education is evident through the introduction of programs such as the Master's degree in Global Management and Politics and the Bachelor's degree in Computer Science. Under his guidance, Luiss University has expanded its global reach, advanced in international rankings, diversified its faculty and student body, and launched new double degree programs.

Before assuming the role of Rector, Andrea Prencipe held positions as Deputy Rector and Associate Dean for international development of Luiss Business School. His academic journey includes becoming a Full Professor of Innovation and Organization since 2012, as well as previously serving as a Full Professor of Economics and Business Management at the University G. D’Annunzio of Chieti-Pescara from 2006 to 2012. Throughout his career, he has designed executive courses tailored to meet the demands of the job market, collaborating with significant economic and business players such as Finmeccanica.

Prencipe's educational path includes a Bachelor's degree in Economics and Business from the University of Chieti-Pescara G. D’Annunzio. He furthered his specialization in innovation studies, earning an MA in Innovation Management from the St. Anna School of Advanced Studies, an MSc in Technology and Innovation Management from SPRU (University of Sussex), and a PhD in Science and Technology Policy Studies from SPRU. His academic journey has taken him to esteemed institutions like the University of Sussex, INSEAD, and the University G. d’Annunzio. He has also held the title of Honorary Professor at the University of Sussex.

Andrea Prencipe's research centers on innovation within companies, organizational learning in project-based organizations, and the interplay between regional social capital and innovation processes. His work has been published in esteemed international journals and published by respected publishers such as Oxford University Press. Additionally, he serves on the editorial boards of top academic journals. His expertise is well-recognized and frequently featured in national and international newspapers.
