Benjamin Eric Sasse, known as Ben Sasse, is an accomplished academic administrator and former politician who currently serves as the president of the University of Florida. He previously held the position of United States senator from Nebraska, representing the Republican Party, from 2015 to 2023. Born in Plainview, Nebraska, Sasse has an impressive educational background. He obtained a bachelor's degree in government from Harvard University, a Master of Arts in liberal studies from St. John's College, and master's and doctoral degrees in American history from Yale University. Throughout his career, he has taught at the University of Texas and served as an assistant secretary in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. In 2010, Sasse became the 15th president of Midland University in Fremont, Nebraska.
