Daniela Mapelli is a distinguished figure in the academic world. She graduated in Experimental Psychology from the University of Padua in 1991 and further pursued her academic journey by earning a PhD in Experimental Psychology from the University of Trieste in 1996. Her pursuit of intellectual enrichment directed her to the Cognitive Neuroscience Lab within the Department of Psychology at Carnegie Mellon University, where she engaged in two immersive years of study from 1993 to 1995.

Between 1997 and 2003, she held post-doc positions at the Department of General Psychology and the Department of Medicine at the University of Padua.
