Eva Zažímalová, president of Czech Academy of Sciences and a scientist in chemistry and biochemistry, completed her studies at Charles University in Prague in 1979. She obtained a CSc. degree in plant physiology from the Institute of Experimental Botany, CAS, in 1983. Throughout her career, she excelled in hormonal regulation research in plants. From 2004 to 2016, she headed the Laboratory of Hormonal Regulation. Eva serves as an Associate Professor since 2004 and a Professor for anatomy and physiology of plants since 2013 at Charles University. Her academic involvement extends to several esteemed institutions, and she actively contributes to scientific boards. Eva is a prominent member of the Learned Society of the Czech Republic and the European Academy of Sciences and Arts. Internationally recognized, she has worked with ERC and the European Commission, evaluating prestigious grants and fellowships.
