Henry T. Yang Overview

Henry Tzu-Yow Yang, born on November 29, 1940, is a Chinese American mechanical engineer and university administrator. He currently serves as the fifth chancellor of the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB), a position he has held since 1994. Yang was born in Chongqing, China, and his family relocated to Taiwan in 1949. He completed his Bachelor of Science in civil engineering at National Taiwan University in 1962, followed by a Master of Science in structural engineering at West Virginia University in 1965, and a Doctor of Philosophy in civil engineering at Cornell University in 1968.
