John Ignatius Jenkins, C.S.C., born on December 17, 1953, is a distinguished Catholic priest affiliated with the Congregation of the Holy Cross. Currently, he holds the esteemed position of President at the University of Notre Dame, located in Indiana. With a rich history at the university, he has previously served as the Vice-President and Associate Provost, contributing significantly to its administrative and academic functions. Stepping into his role as President on July 1, 2005, Jenkins succeeded Edward Malloy, marking the beginning of his impactful leadership journey. Recognized for his commitment to the university's mission and values, he was selected as the President-elect by the Notre Dame board of trustees on April 29, 2004.
