Linda G. Mills is an accomplished American social worker and academic administrator who has been appointed as the president-designate of New York University. She is scheduled to assume the presidency on July 1, 2023. Mills holds an impressive educational background, having obtained a B.A. in history and social thought from the University of California, Irvine in 1979. She further pursued her studies, earning a J.D. from the University of California College of the Law, San Francisco in 1983, and an M.S.W. from San Francisco State University in 1986. Mills's academic journey continued as she obtained a Ph.D. in Health Policy from Brandeis University in 1994, where she was recognized as a Pew Scholar.
