M. Brian Blake, an accomplished American computer scientist and software engineer, serves as the eighth president of Georgia State University. His remarkable academic journey includes distinguished roles such as executive vice president for academic affairs and provost at George Washington University, executive vice president of academic affairs and Nina Henderson Provost at Drexel University, and dean of the graduate school and vice provost for academic affairs at the University of Miami.
Blake's impressive contributions have garnered recognition, earning him the title of the most promising scientist in 2003 by Career Communications, as well as being acknowledged as a Top 10 Emerging Scholar in Diverse Issues in Higher Education. His extensive research has secured over $12 million in funding and resulted in the publication of more than 225 scholarly works. As an ACM Distinguished Scientist and Fellow of the IEEE, Blake's expertise in the field is widely acknowledged.
