Paul Alivisatos, the 14th president of the University of Chicago, holds the distinguished position of John D. MacArthur Distinguished Service Professor in the Department of Chemistry, the Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering, and the College. In his role as president, Alivisatos collaborates with the Board of Trustees, Provost, Deans, and University Officers to develop strategic initiatives and programs aimed at enhancing the university's reputation as one of the top research institutions globally.
