Prof. Dr. Mahmut Ak Overview

He completed his primary education at Büyükbağlar Köyü Primary School, followed by middle and high school education at Tokat Imam-Hatip High School. He obtained his undergraduate degree from the Department of History at Istanbul University's Faculty of Literature in 1987. In the same year, he became a Research Assistant. He defended his doctoral thesis in 1997 and obtained the title of Doctor. In 1999, he was appointed as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Modern History at Istanbul University. In 2005, he received the title of Associate Professor in Modern and Contemporary History. In 2006, he was appointed as an Associate Professor in the Department of Modern History. In 2011, he became a Professor in the Department of Modern History.
