Celal Bayar University Overview

Manisa Celal Bayar University (MCBU) is a public research university located in Manisa, Turkey. It has a rich history, tracing its roots back to 1959 when it started as an independent sports and teachers' college. Today, MCBU is one of the largest universities in the Aegean Region, offering over 70 undergraduate and 90 graduate programs. The university's main campus is in the Muradiye district of Manisa.

MCBU is proud to carry the name of Celal Bayar, the third president of Turkey. It has undergone various transformations and mergers over the years to expand its educational offerings. The university now consists of 14 colleges, 3 schools, and 15 vocational schools, with a student body of more than 55,000 and 1,156 faculty members. Additionally, it accommodates 652 international students.

The university places great emphasis on research, boasting 14 research centers, including ones focusing on Atatürk's Principles, Local Governance, Turkish Handcraft, History and Culture, Computing, Environmental Problems, and Health. MCBU's engineering programs have received EUR-ACE accreditation, and it also holds accreditation for its medical degrees.

MCBU is committed to providing quality education and offers students the ability to transfer earned credits with confidence. In the 2016-2017 academic year, it conferred 9,755 degrees, encompassing bachelor's, master's, doctorates, and associate degrees.
