Erzurum Technical University, established on July 21, 2010, as the second state university in Erzurum, boasts a comprehensive academic structure comprising 6 faculties, 3 institutes, and 1 vocational school—a development mandated by decision number 27648. The university commenced operations in 2012, welcoming its inaugural student cohort, and subsequently, in the academic year of 2015-2016, celebrated its first graduates.

With determined speed, ETU has been vigorously executing its campus expansion initiatives. Its contemporary faculty and administrative buildings grace a vast 4,000-acre expanse adjacent to the airport road, epitomizing the forward-looking essence of modern universities. The completion of the central lecture hall, a substantial 6250 m2 structure, was a crucial stride towards enhancing both academic standards and student well-being. This was further augmented by the construction of an additional lecture hall spanning 3,178 m2, designated for sporting activities. Subsequent accomplishments include the 19,581 m2 Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences building, as well as the 25,245 m2 Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, which commenced service in 2017.

In sync with its architectural endeavors, ETU's commitment to holistic student living is exemplified by a purposeful 152-student capacity girls' dormitory, generously provided by İş Bank. The institution's alignment with technological progress is personified by the 4700 m2 High Technology Application and Research Center (YÜTAM), launched in 2017. This center stands poised to drive impactful research and development, fostering advancements pivotal to the realization of technological goals set for the city, region, and nation by 2023.

The university's dedication to student life is further encapsulated in the development of a Student Life Center, initiated with a dining hall in 2016 and slated for multifaceted expansion, including a student market and social facilities. Among the ongoing endeavors are the completion and activation of 16 lodges, while the construction of 32 lodges remains underway. To address transportation needs, the university's 6,000-meter infrastructure encompassing cycling, walking, and vehicular roads has been thoughtfully realized, further enhancing accessibility across the campus grounds.
