Alžběta Wolfová is an accomplished sociocultural anthropologist with a specialization in the anthropology of body and health. She earned her Master's degree from Charles University, Faculty of Humanities, and is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in General Anthropology at the same institution. With an impressive academic background, Alžběta has been actively engaged in teaching and supervising BA students for six years at Charles University.
During her academic journey, Alžběta Wolfová has conducted extensive research, particularly focusing on the body in specific nonconventional medicine practice. Her doctoral research has resulted in three published papers, demonstrating her expertise in ethnography and interview-based basic and applied research.
Alongside her academic pursuits, Alžběta has been an integral part of several research projects funded by prestigious organizations like the Czech Science Foundation (GACR) and the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic (TACR). Her work involves collaborating as a research associate, contributing to projects related to the impact of populism on young citizens and the educational and professional trajectories of socially excluded youth.
Furthermore, Alžběta Wolfová has actively participated in various international conferences, presenting her research findings and engaging with the academic community. Her presentations have covered diverse topics, including the institutionalization of Ayurveda, negotiation of well-being through Ayurvedic practices, and the construction of Ayurveda in different realms.
Apart from her academic commitments, Alžběta has been involved in teaching a wide range of courses at Charles University, including "Anthropology of Health," "Alternative Medicine and Ethnomedicine," and "Introduction to Medical Anthropology." Her teaching experiences have extended to various language programs, where she delivered lectures on cultural anthropology and research methods.
Alžběta Wolfová's proficiency in qualitative data management software, Atlas.ti, and reference management software, Zotero, further enhances her research capabilities. Her language skills in English and Spanish, alongside her native Czech and B1-level German, facilitate communication and collaboration in diverse academic and multicultural settings.
