University of New York in Prague Overview

The University of New York in Prague (UNYP) is a renowned private institution of higher education located in Prague, Czech Republic. Established in 1998 in collaboration with the State University of New York (SUNY), including New Paltz and Empire State College, UNYP gained recognition from the Czech Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sports in 2001. It is also a proud member of the British Accreditation Council for Independent Further and Higher Education.

Originally situated in Prague's historic old town, UNYP relocated to a new campus in Vinohrady (Prague 2) in 2014, specifically at Londýnská 41.

UNYP offers a diverse range of accredited programs, including bachelor's degrees, master's programs, MBA programs, and PhD programs. These programs are taught in English and developed in partnership with esteemed universities across Europe and the United States. Notably, over 60% of UNYP's faculty members hold doctoral degrees, primarily from prestigious institutions like Charles University and the Prague University of Economics.

At the undergraduate level, UNYP offers four-year American bachelor's degrees in fields such as Business Administration, International Relations, Communication and Media, Child Development, Psychology, Digital Media Arts, English Language and Literature, Information Technology, and Political Science. These programs are offered in collaboration with SUNY's Empire State College and are recognized and accredited by the Czech Ministry of Education and the US Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.

Additionally, UNYP grants three-year European bachelor's degrees in Business Administration with concentrations in Marketing, Human Resources, Sports Management, or Finance. These European bachelor's degrees hold recognition and accreditation from the Czech Ministry of Education and the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE).

UNYP provides various graduate programs, including an MA in Psychology and MBA programs specializing in Marketing, Finance, Management, Entrepreneurship, or Global Business Services. The UNYP MBA program holds accreditation from IACBE.

For doctoral studies, UNYP offers PhD programs in collaboration with the University of Bolton in the United Kingdom.

Accredited by the Czech Ministry of Education and recognized by the Czech National Accreditation Bureau for Higher Education, UNYP offers six-degree programs leading to Bachelor's or Master's degrees. These programs encompass Business Administration, Communication & Media, International Relations, and Psychology.

UNYP has also obtained permission from the Czech Ministry of Education to offer degree programs from various foreign universities, leading to the awarding of Bachelor's or Master's degrees from those institutions. Notable foreign partner universities include SUNY's Empire State College.

UNYP holds accreditation from the British Accreditation Council (BAC) internationally, and its business programs, including the MBA and three-year Bachelor's program, are accredited by the International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE) based in the United States. Additionally, UNYP's MBA program has been accredited by the Czech Association of MBA Schools since 2003. The university is affiliated with renowned organizations such as the American Chamber of Commerce in the Czech Republic, the Czech Association of MBA Schools (CAMBAS), and the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in the Czech Republic. UNYP is also a proud member of the Central and East European Management Development Association (CEEMAN), an association of business education providers in Central and Eastern Europe.

Mediocre educational institution where I spent 2 years in vain, where they treat people as if they were in kindergarten. With the exception of a few very valuable teachers, I believe that almost all of the remaining academic staff needs serious psychological support.

If you are ready to be constantly oppressed and humiliated by its incompetent academic staff, who struggle with basic technology such as using a presentation pointer and turn the sound of the computer on and off, this school is for you.
If your primary goal is obtaining a prestigious diploma, consider institutions with better reputations.
If your primary goal is to acquire knowledge, you can learn exactly the same from YouTube in a shorter time and a better way..

Expensive, inefficient, oppressive, and just a marketing ploy.

As a person brought up in the Czech educational system and comparing this college with other educational institutions in Czechia, I can genuinely say that this is a great school.
Thanks to a relatively small number of students, the academic staff is able to keep a more personal approach. The way in which is taught at this school I would describe it as such: not memorize but think about.

In general, I would indeed say that the quality of UNYP is good with some exceptions among the stuff. The biggest flaw that I encountered a teacher with was that he was acting in contradiction to what he demanded students behave like and being a hypocrite in that sense. This teacher also did not take into consideration any private life and was expecting students to work on the expanse of other subjects.

I've tried to make the most honest and accurate review. I am aware of many colleagues that had more severe issues, however, I will leave it to them to share their experiences.
