Muir completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Business/Management at Hautes Etudes Commerciales (HEC) in Montreal, Canada. He furthered his academic pursuits by earning a Master of Science degree from the prestigious University of Leicester in the United Kingdom.

Throughout his career, Muir has demonstrated versatility by excelling in diverse professional environments. He has worked in the retail sector and gained valuable insights during his 12 years of experience in banking. Notably, he served as the National Credit Manager for the Retail Operations of Canada Post, contributing to the efficient management of credit administration.

David Muir's expertise extends beyond the borders of Canada. He spent nine years with the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, where he served as both an Investment Analyst and an HR Analyst.
