Donde Plowman assumed the role of the ninth chancellor at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, starting from July 1, 2019. She returned to the university after a nine-year tenure at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln (UNL), where she held significant positions, including executive vice chancellor and chief academic officer. In her capacity at UNL, Plowman had responsibilities spanning academic affairs, student affairs, the Office of Research and Economic Development, as well as the Office of Diversity and Inclusion. Earlier in her career, she served as the James Jr. and Susan Stuart Dean of UNL’s College of Business Administration for over six years.
