Kerstin Krieglstein is an accomplished academic with expertise in chemistry, pharmacy, pharmacology, and neuroanatomy. She has held positions at prestigious institutions and conducted research in neurochemistry, neurophysiology, neuroanatomy, growth factors, neuronal cell biology, and molecular embryology. In 2007, she joined Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg as a professor and later became the director of the Department of Molecular Embryology. In 2020, she made history as the first female rector of the University of Freiburg. Krieglstein is also the Vice President for Research, Early Career Researchers, University Medicine, and Health Sciences at the German Rectors' Conference. Her contributions to academia and leadership have garnered recognition in her field.
