A Doctor of Mathematical Sciences and Full Professor, she became the first female Rector in the 295-year history of the University of Havana. A prominent figure in politics, she was a member of the Political Bureau and currently serves on the Central Committee. With international recognition, she drove digitalization as Rector of the University of Informatics Sciences. Her educational contributions earned her distinctions, medals, and the title of Honorary Member of the Cuban Academy of Sciences. A Deputy and member of the State Council, she's also a pre-candidate for deputy through student and mass organizations' nominations.
